چکیده

Abstract Finfish aquaculture in the Mediterranean Sea faces increasing challenges due to climate change, while potential adaptation requires a robust assessment of arising threats and opportunities. This paper presents an approach developed investigate effects drivers on Greek aquaculture, representative country with leading role sector. Using farm level approach, dynamic energy budget models for European seabass meagre were developed, environmental forcing was used simulate changes production profitability under IPCC scenarios RCP45 RCP85. The temperature extreme weather events at individual levels considered along that husbandry parameters such as stocking timing, market size, location (inshore, offshore) nine regions. simulations suggest level, fish may benefit from warmer temperatures future terms growth, thus reaching commercial sizes faster, have large effect growth projected shifts climatic cues. However, this will be largely offset by adverse population level. Such more frequent and, depending intensity one assigns them, they could cause losses biomass profits range mild detrimental industry. Overall, these results provide quantification some important sector suggesting possibilities emerging Therefore, contribute improving sector’s readiness tackling future.

Projecting the Hydrologic Impacts of Climate Change on Montane Wetlands

Wetlands are globally important ecosystems that provide critical services for natural communities and human society. Montane wetland ecosystems are expected to be among the most sensitive to changing climate, as their persistence depends on factors directly influenced by climate (e.g. precipitation, snowpack, evaporation). Despite their importance and climate sensitivity, wetlands tend to be un...

Evidences of Impacts of Climate Change on Mediterranean Biota

We report here the data set entitled " Impacts of climate change on organisms in the Mediterranean Sea, " which is the basis for the analysis of impacts of climate change on marine organisms presented by Marbà et al. (2015a). (Marbà et al., 2015b). In this data set we compiled evidence of warming on Mediterranean Sea biota derived from published reports. These were derived from a broad literatu...

Methodological Approaches to Projecting the Hydrologic Impacts of Climate Change*

Climate change due to anthropogenic greenhouse gases (GHG) is expected to have important impacts on water resources, with a variety of societal impacts. Recent research has shown that applying different methodologies to assess hydrologic impacts can lead to widely diverging projections of water resources. The authors classify methods of projecting hydrologic impacts of climate change into those...

Assessment of potential climate change impacts on drought indicators (Case study: Yazd station, Central Iran)

This research studies the potential impact of climate change on future trend and changes of two well known drought indicators namely RDI and SPI in Yazd meteorological station, in central part of Iran. For this purpose, data of HadCM3 model that were resulted from GCM-runs based on the IPCC-SRES scenarios of A2 and B2 were acquired and analyzed for projection of daily Tmin, Tmax and precipitati...
